Automatic Barriers
FAAC automatic barriers are designed to make vehicle access simple, secure, and easy to manage. Used across New Zealand in commercial sites, residential complexes, industrial facilities, and parking areas, these systems help control traffic flow while preventing unauthorised entry. From a single automatic gate barrier at a private site to large-scale automatic traffic barriers in busy environments, FAAC solutions are built to perform consistently. With boom arm options ranging from 2 to 8 metres and fast opening times, each automatic boom barrier is suited to both low and high-traffic conditions. Every barrier is manufactured using durable materials to handle daily use and changing weather. The result is a smooth, dependable access experience that works quietly in the background while keeping your site secure and organised.
FAAC automatic barrier arm gates are engineered with long-term reliability in mind. Designed to operate smoothly in demanding environments, they are a practical solution for sites that require regular vehicle movement without delays. Whether installed at a corporate entrance, toll gate, or public parking facility, each automatic barrier offers precise control and dependable performance. FAAC automatic gate barrier systems allow authorised vehicles to move in and out efficiently while maintaining clear access boundaries. This makes them ideal for managing safety, security, and traffic flow across a wide range of applications. As FAAC continues to grow in the automation space across NZ, we bring proven global technology adapted for local requirements. With FAAC, you are choosing an access solution that balances strong engineering with everyday usability, delivering automatic barriers that simply work when you need them to.

AC Motors
FAAC’s automation systems were originally developed using alternating current (230V AC) motors, a technology that remains widely trusted today. In these motors, electrical current passing through the stator creates a rotating magnetic field, which drives the rotor and moves the motor shaft.
For single-phase installations, a capacitor is used to start and stabilise the motor’s rotation. To support safe operation, AC motors include integrated thermal protection that automatically cuts power if excessive load or overheating is detected.
While newer motor technologies are now available, AC motors continue to be used across many access automation applications. Their simple construction, proven durability, and consistent performance make them a reliable choice for long-term operation.
DC Motors
DC motors operate using a brush system that powers the rotor, while the stator generates a constant magnetic field. This design allows for more flexible control compared to traditional AC motors.
Instead of built-in mechanical protection, FAAC DC systems rely on electronic thermal protection. This approach enables precise monitoring of operating conditions, helping maintain safe and reliable performance at all times.
One of the key benefits of DC motors is control. Speed and force can be finely adjusted, allowing for smooth acceleration and deceleration. They are also energy efficient and support battery backup, helping systems remain operational during power outages.
